Father's Day playlist: 6 Songs for Father's Day

2019-05-31

Annual Father's Day is around the corner, which is a memorable day! On this Father's Day, why not get them a perfect gift and express your thanks and love through this touching music. Here is the list of my favored 6 Father's Day songs to toast this special day.

1.    Luther Vandross – "Dance With My Father"

It is an old song which was released in 2003 in Luther Vandross's thirteenth and final album titled Dance with My Father. Upon its release, it debuted atop the US Billboard 200 chart with the first week and received generally positive reviews from music critics. He told us a story about his memory about his father who died when he was only seven years old, dancing with him and his mom, with the lush melody and elegantly beseeching voice. It's still touching when we listen in 2019.

2.    Beyoncé - "Daddy"

Daddy is a song recorded by American singer Beyoncé for her debut album – Dangerously in Love in 2003. It is a song for Beyoncé to pay tribute to her father and unravels her childhood experiences and hopes for all men in her life to be like her father.

3.    Will Smith – "Just The Two of Us"

It is a song by Will Smith, who is an American rapper. This song was inspired by a romantic love song of the same title by Bill Withers and Grover Washington, Jr, but this version focuses on the relationship between a father and son. Even it was released ten years ago, still a perfect Father's Day song to play.

4.    Holly Dunn – "Daddy's Hands"

It is a Country song sung by Holly Dunn, which describes a strict father who is very gentle and caring in another way, a loving father-daughter relationship.

5.    Miley Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus – "I Learned from You"

I love this song. It is Miley's old songs, from the soundtrack of the first season of Hannah Montana, which shows all the lessons she learned from her father and her thanks to her father. "I learned from you that I do not crumble. I learned that strength is something you choose, all of the reasons to keep on believing. There's no question, that's a lesson that I learned from you." – which is sweet.

6.    George Strait – "The Best Day"

It is a storytelling song sung by country music legend George Strait. The song was released in 2000, which is very classic Father's Day Song. It is told from the view of a father who recalls memorable and pleasant memories with his son as he grows from childhood into adolescence and eventually, adulthood.
